Fancy a Free Tarot Reading?
Details for card pulls this Friday - plus perfect questions for writers, readers, and personal reflection.
Have you ever had your tarot cards read?
I had my cards read for the first time last December, but I’ve been reading for myself for over three years now. You can see my reflective approach to tarot here, but one thing that I love is the perspective it can give you. Like someone might use journaling as a tool, I like to take some quiet time out of my day to puzzle through some plot points or character backstory with the help of my favourite deck.
So I thought I’d share that process with you through a free 1-card tarot pull.

Suggestions:
I have some specific questions below for writers, creatives, readers and personal reflection. Treat them as ideas or jumping off points! But first some overall considerations:
Include agency - Avoid yes or no questions, or wording the question that takes your actions and power out of the equation. Example - “Will I buy my dream house?” Is kind of vague, and there’s a lot of factors out of your control. Instead, you could try, “what are features of my dream home I should be looking for?” or “what do I need to know about my house search?”. This way, you can walk away from the question with something more actionable.
Focus on the Present - I prefer to use tarot to puzzle through a situation I’m presently engaged in. Instead of trying to predict far into the future, consider a question that sparks concrete reflection.
Avoid anything related to life/death/medical questions - Some people don’t mind, but I don’t prefer to wade into these waters - I’d rather leave that to trained professionals.
Ask for yourself - It’s better to focus on questions related to you or your creative works, than try to predict what is going on for other people.
